Meet the culinary and business magicians turning our vegetables into something extra special

Featuring Local Farm Ingredients

We are consistently inspired and amazed by the talent, energy and gumption of our restaurant and chef partners. These chefs are turning our produce into the most delectable dishes, way beyond anything we could have imagined. They all take local and organic sourcing very seriously, demonstrating by example a strong and sustained commitment to not only Ironwood Farm, but all the other vegetable, meat and dairy operations in the Hudson Valley.

Chef Dave Chicane

Food Studio

Hudson, NY  |  From the very early days of Ironwood, Dave has been a supportive and dedicated restaurant partner. He features Ironwood and many other local farms heavily in his menu and visits our farm to talk vegetable varieties that are best for his kitchen. He even climbed a scaffolding to help us build one of the hoop houses! His Vietnamese inspired food is incredibly satisfying, and he's one of the most welcoming chef-hosts to all his farmers. See you tonight Dave!

Chef Kirby

Wm Farmer and Sons

Hudson, NY  |  In just a few short years, Kirby and his team have built Wm Farmer and Sons to be one of the most popular restaurants in Hudson. The vibe is cool, the food delectable and the service on-point. Kirby also buys a lot of local meat, vegetables and fish. He's a huge supporter of the Hudson Valley bounty. We had an end-of-season dinner there a while ago and we were blown away by the fare he served. Yum and yum.

Chef David

Crossroads

Hillsdale, NY |  Every time we travel East from the farm, we stop and think "oh my we are going to get to go visit Dave at Crossroads!" Our heart races at the thought of his delicious food, friendly atmosphere and welcoming service. Dave features a lot of Ironwood's harvest in his regularly rotating menu. He's one of those guys that even on a crazy-busy Saturday service, still takes a moment to stop and say hello when we walk in the door.

Mona and Kate

Talbott and Arding

Hudson, NY |  Mona and Kate have an extra special place in our hearts. Lauren lived behind their wonderful shop when Elsie was born. They brought us a cake in celebration. It was the best cake we'd ever had, and one of the kindest too. Their food is absolutely stunning, with attention to detail, flavor, diversity and sourcing marking every bite. They have melded themselves into the local agricultural community by supplying a hungry market with some of the regions freshest and best food and drink. What did we ever do before Talbott and Arding existed?

Carla and Hannah

Lil' Deb's Oasis

Hudson, NY |  Yes. Yes. Yes. Carla and Hannah blow our minds every time we go to their restaurant/installation/performance project. They have created a new way of thinking about a restaurant, one that incorporates and vividly exercises values of openness, matriarchy, equality, artistic expression, lgbtqa rights and creativity. They transform their locally sourced produce into the most exciting and delicious tropical comfort food. They've welcomed us many times at their table, and we just can't get enough.

Ben and Michael

Ben Gable Savories

Chatham, NY |  When we dream about the perfect cappuccino, slice of delicate quiche and a cloud-like butter biscuit and jam, we dream of Ben and Michael's nook. They create some of the most delicious and tempting foods in the Valley. Breakfast or lunch there truly is a thing of refined beauty and flavor. They also take care to use seasonable local produce, and present it on the plate in a such a way to elevate and respect it. We are into what they do with our lettuce and other vegetables.

Angus and Thomas

The People's Pub

Chatham, NY |  Craving that perfect pint of local brew, with a medium-rare burger, fries and homemade ketchup, and local chicken wings, and fresh organic salad, and slow cooked pork, and double-fried buttermilk chicken, and live music, and beer (did I say that already?) Park yourself at People's Pub. They are serving up a dream there! And they do so by supporting a lot of local farms in the process. They are always looking for ways to serve up fresh and seasonal produce and meats. Who wants to meet us there?!

Chef Chip, Dan and Susan

Grazin'

Hudson, NY |  Dan and Susan take local and organic to the next level - all of their meats and dairy products come from farms (including their own) that have animal welfare certifications. This is an intense and commendable step forwards. We remember when they took blue cheese off a burger because they couldn't source it responsibly. We were upset (we loved that sweet sweet burger), but then elated at how passionate and progressive they are. Needless to say, the burgers are incredible. We and mostly every Hudsonite we know are there at least once a week.
Chef Chip at Grazin
Executive Chef Hugh Horner at Helsinki Hudson

Chef Hugh

Helsinki Hudson

Hudson, NY |  Chef Horner mixes his deep Texas and Louisiana roots with his involvement in the farming culture of the Hudson Valley to create a southern scratch soul kitchen like nothing else around. He and his team at Helsinki have taken local farm sourcing seriously, featuring Ironwood and many other farms from around the Hudson Valley for years. We jump at the chance to dine at his delectable table. Oh... and if that wasn't enough, Helsinki is also an incredible music venue!

Elizabeth

Main Street Public House

Philmont, NY |  Oh Pub. How we love thee. Main Street has a special place in our hearts as it is literally around the corner from our farm. You'll often find us, or other farmers, muddy and sweaty, sipping on delicous beer and munching burgers as our kids run around like wild animals... sorry not sorry. This is our local. It's Philmont's local. And it's amazing.

Chef Yasuo

Mentoku

New York, NY |  Chef Yasuo takes his ramen seriously. It's authentic Hakata Japanese style, served up quickly but with the finest ingredients. And this is why he comes all the way up to Ironwood to get his fresh peashoots. You'd think it hard to find someone to deliver to Mentoku, down there in New York. Guess again - everyone wants to do this delivery just to get a bowl of that sweet hot goodness. We can smell it from up here on the farm!

Juliana and Joey

Oak Pizzeria Napoletana

Hudson, NY |  The first time we ever tasted one of Chef Joey's wood-fired pizzas I think we actually cried a little. The crust is chewy meets crunchy meets cloud perfection. Host Juliana follows up with the most lovely and caring service and expertly curated bar. Oak also regularly features Hudson Valley farm produce on their delicious antipasti and seasonal specials like "The Farmer's Pizza". Okay, I'm stopping web design now and going to get a pizza immediately.

Gaby, Ray and Kim

Rivertown Lodge

Hudson, NY |  We celebrated an anniversary the other day in the tavern at Rivertown Lodge, at the capable hands and long-time local food advocate Chef Gaby. Our minds and mouths were blown away! We were like, "yum, what is that" and "wait, how did he do that with that vegetable?!" Needless to say, the food is incredible. And a lot of it is from local farms. The setting is also mellow-dreamy, with cocktails to boot. Go Gaby go!

Bob, Lon and Lois

Stewart House

Athenes, NY |  Revamping such a richly historic place like the Stewart House might seem like a daunting task. But it doesn't show for Lon and Lois, who have done an incredible job bringing Stewart house back to its former glory. Chef Bob runs the kitchen, drawing heavily from the bounty of the Hudson Valley, and serves up a tempting lunch and supper. He's also firing up the outside grill - where else can you sip a beer, munch a burger and watch the Hudson river glide by in such spender?

Anthea and Mark

Village Coffee and Goods

Kingston, NY |  Kingston just got even more amazing. Anthea and Mark opened their delightful coffee and bites joint in 2018. Talented musicians themselves, they welcome a number of artists to the shop, so you can listen to live music along with the scrumptious fare. If this wasn't all just perfect, they also manage our Kingston CSA. Sign up and get a weekly box of certified organic veggies along with your coffee and goods!

Rachel and Gaby

Bonfiglio and Bread

Athens, NY |  You know when you bite into a croissant and your toes curl while your eyes roll back into your head - that's how good Rachel and Gaby's baked goods are. In this bustling and popular bakery and cafe, you'll find homemade pizzas, sandwiches, baked goods and more. They have been purchasing Ironwood veggies from the early days, and continue to turn them into magical dishes. One special crop that we've collaboratively worked on developing are the bitter chicories - with us learning how to grow these Italian styled greens and they making them into the most delicious salads. This truly represents a deep farm-to-table partnership. They are big supporters of the local food scene and we just love what they do.

Nick and Sarah

Gaskins

Germantown, NY |  One of our most favorite texts to receive, "Hey, do you guys wanna go to Gaskins for dinner tonight?" We literally jump for joy when someone sends us that. Why, because Nick and Sarah have made Gaskins into one of the coziest, tastiest and most fun restaurants in Columbia County. Nick sources much of the menu from local farms and producers, taking very seriously the terroir and sustainability of his ingredients. Their cocktail menu and bar is also one of our favorites. The moment you get a chance, go have supper at their table!
