Veggies & Gorgeous Coffee

Welcome to Ironwood Farm's Kingston organic vegetable and herb CSA, in the Hudson Valley. When you join, you connect yourself to our farm, what is grown, and the community supporting this vital local and sustainable agriculture system. You'll receive a weekly 'share' of the vegetables grown on the farm, harvested fresh that week. As a season shareholder in the farm, these veggies will be the best food that week. Bring your bags to pick up on Thursdays in Kingston and get ready to fill up on fresh, healthy, clean, organic, and absolutely delicious produce!

Mark and Anthea of Village Grocery and Refillery have been supportive of our farm before their own doors were even open! We partner with them to recruit a Kingston CSA cohort which receives certified organic Ironwood Farm produce each week at their shop. This year we are relocating the pick up to their new grocery store, Village Grocery and Refillery, and offering an in-person pick up experience where a member of our farm team will help you collect your share. Extensive grocery shopping will be available on your pick up day!

FAQs

Here are some helpful questions and answers about the Kingston CSA.
  • How much food do I get each week?

A share is enough food for 2-4 people depending on level of vegetable obsession

  • Can I pay over time?

We are happy to offer payment plans for members to pay in 2 or 3 installments: due in full by Aug 1.

  • I'm concerned about wasting the food. What can I do?

Cook for friends, trade an item with another member, freeze food for the winter (pesto etc.!), focus on cooking from the farm share rather than from pre-selected recipes.

  • If I can't make the pickup, what are my options?

Village Coffee and Grocery offers to hold *some*shares overnight but they have limited space: we encourage all members to pick up their share on Thursday!

  • Can I join the CSA after the start date?

Yes: we offer pro-rated shares based on the weeks you participate. But we aim to have all folks signed up by the start date!

  • I know I'm going miss a week, what can I do?

If you can't make a week, we suggest folks to offer the share to a friend to pick up and enjoy!

  • Can I pre-select what I get each week?

A CSA share is full of suprises of what is bountiful in the season. Trust us to select the items for you based on our farm knowledge & customer care.

  • How can I order more veggies than what's in the share?

We offer sauce boxes and other add-on items throughout the season - stay tuned for updates once you join!

  • Do you accept worktrades or volunteers?

We accept 1 or 2 worktrade members per year who pay half of their share and work hours totalling the remaining half @ $12/hr. The days are fun and fly by. We can always use help from volunteers!

  • Does the share contain meat or dairy products?

This share is 100%  veggies & herbs

  • What happens at a CSA pickup?

Bring your bags, check out the list to review how much of each item is on offer, and hand-select your items by the bunch, piece or lb. We provide scales for items that need to be weighed, and plastic bags, though we encourage folks to re-use bags whenever possible!

  • Will the farmers be at pickup?

Yes! We run a sweet, out-the-back-of-the truck service at Village Grocery and Refillery! One of our crew will help you gather your items and answer any questions you have.

  • Can I bring a dog to pickup?

We ask that dogs not be brought to this pick up to respect the Village Grocery and Refillery space!
